NOC Engineer
Job Description
The NOC Engineer is responsible for 24/7 monitoring of network and service health, incident response, and coordination with field and support teams to maintain SLA commitments.
Responsibilities & Requirements
- Monitor network devices, links, and service dashboards.
- Respond to alerts and escalate incidents as per runbooks.
- Perform first-level troubleshooting on connectivity issues.
- Document incidents, root causes, and resolutions.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for fault restoration.
- Generate daily/weekly NOC performance reports.
- Support change windows and maintenance activities.
- Ensure adherence to security and access control policies.
- Assist in capacity planning and performance analysis.
- Maintain NOC tools and monitoring platform configurations.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of experience in NOC or network support roles.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and WAN technologies.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (SNMP, syslog, NMS platforms).
- CCNA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Ability to work in rotational shifts including nights/weekends.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Experience with fiber, microwave, or enterprise networks is a plus.
- Customer-focused mindset with urgency in incident handling.
- Proficiency in ticketing systems and technical documentation.
